Founded by Don Blau in the summer of 1994, the IBL is a
volunteer organization
in the greater Waterloo-Cedar Falls area run by parent-volunteers who
wish
to provide an enjoyable learning experience for young baseball players
as they develop their skills in a competitive environment. The IBL
emphasizes
fun, sportsmanship and competition while teaching players an
appreciation
for the great game of baseball.
The league has three divisions defined by school grade level, not age: 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th. Each division has a coordinator who is responsible for scheduling and enforcing rules for that division. There is a commissioner who oversees the running of the entire league. The league accepts formed teams only and does not assign players to teams. Once a team is formed by the team manager, the league will include that team in its playing schedule. The season runs from early May to mid-July. |
